What kind of personal data is collected and why

Resumes and contact information

For users who sign-up to the platform, all personal information relating to their user profile is stored, including all the data belonging to any entered resume. All users can see, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except their username which cannot be changed). Website administrators can view and edit this information.

The data on any resumes is saved and shown publicly on Remotelists.com. The user contact information (email addresses) contained on their resumes is accessible only to companies registered on the platform. The user who adds their resume through the “Submit Resume” function or through his personal Dashboard, accepts the above conditions. Otherwise, the user can choose not to share this information by giving up the aforementioned functions.

Comments

As visitors leave comments on the site, Remotelists.com collects all the data shown in the appropriate entry form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and the browser user agent string in order to facilitate spam detection.

An anonymized string created from the user’s email address (otherwise called hash) can be provided to the Gravatar service. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

The profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of the approved comments.

Media

Any images uploaded by the user to the platform may contain embedded position data (EXIF GPS). It is recommended to avoid uploading images that may include this data. Visitors could download and extract any location data from images on the site. Remotelists.com is not responsible for any dissemination of such information included in the aforementioned files, for which the user who uses the platform’s services is the solely responsible.

Cookies

By leaving a comment on Remotelists.com, the user can choose to save their information, such as name, email address and website in the cookies. These are used exclusively for the convenience of the user in the context of using the platform, for example to avoid the re-entry of their data when sending a further comment. These cookies have a duration of one year.

By visiting the login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine if the user’s browser accepts cookies. This will not include any personal data and will be deleted as the browser is closed.

Upon access, various cookies are set to store the user login information and screen display options. Login cookies last for two days, while screen options cookies last for one year. For the user who selects “Remember me”, the access to the platform will persist for two weeks. By logging out of your account, any login cookies will be deleted.

By modifying or publishing an article, an additional cookie is saved in the user’s browser. This cookie will not include any personal data, but only the article ID just modified. The expiration for this cookie is 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Remotelists.com may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.

These websites may collect user data, use cookies, integrate additional third-party tracking and monitor interaction with them, including tracking interaction with embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to those websites.

How long the data is kept

The resumes entered and all the information contained therein will be kept indefinitely; up to user’s decision to not use any platform’s services anymore and to proceed with their removal. The comments sent and the related metadata will be also kept indefinitely. This is how Remotelists.com automatically recognizes and approves any subsequent comments, rather than keeping them in the moderation queue.

What rights users have on their data

By having an account on this platform, or having left comments, the user can request to receive a file exported from the site with all their personal data held by Remotelists.com, including the provided data. The user can also request the deletion of all personal data concerning him. This will not include any data the site is required to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Contact form

Remotelists.com users as well as any website visitor can use the contact form available at https://www.remotelists.com/en/contacts/ for any communication concerning the functioning of the platform, and / or for issues relating to privacy and use of personal data.
